So I realized what a pretentious dick I was being by using a giant pink header banner the width of Canada here on my live journal. I changed that, and tweaked a few link colors, link behaviors, and a bit of the spacing in the side bar.

Otherwise, the layout is as garish and ovary sprinkled as usual.

I'm bored lately, so here's the deal. Help me amuse myself! I need:

• Suggestions on new music I should listen too


• Suggest me a theme, image, poem, lyric I should make a live journal layout around


• Tell me something I don't know about you and I'll reply in comments in kind.

Go, tell me these things! I know that you wish too!

I was going to do more to this layout to make sure it was as bright, happy, and annoying as possible but I've been poking at it all day and I'm BEAT OMG.

So. I sleep for now.

Tomorrow I need to switch out the tags, location and music icons for the meta data, I know. I'm not purposefully leeching, just sleepy.

Okay, so tomorrow I'll look into tweaking elsewhere. Maybe the side bar and need to get credit up.

So, I started thinking I should go all out. Put some funky white-girl-geek stuff on my website, when I realized early on the very simple thing some tend to forget. Just because I have a monster box with super duper fan-dangled majiggies, don't mean everyone else does, either.

Instead of flash bang and boom, I went totally simple for my personal site. The biggest fancy dancy thing I have planned is a simple java script image gallery for one of the pages. This redesign is totally because of color

Yep, you read me right. I saw this and I fell in love. I love color, I love this site. And, while I could do better for Jade(d) Poetry, I want people to be able to read it. So simple it is.

Over the past three years I have been slowly collecting resources from the many wonderful people who design, create graphics, and offer tutorials to the public. This morning/afternoon/closing in on evening has been eye opening, that's for sure. S2 is a difficult language to learn. I will admit it, but the customization options are near limitless once you know what's going on.

I don't claim to know much (yet) but with the help of s2_for_dummies, everything_lj, babyelefant, carriep36 and uniquewonders I've made something I don't mind staring at.(I have no idea about you, of course.) Huh. That's a small army of experts right there --I consider myself lucky I have some great people to bother.

I was so frustrated yesterday and the few days before when I gave my first attempt in working with s2. It's an overwhelming kind of code to wrap the mind around.

I'm not sure what I'll try/add/fiddle with next, but I think I want to look into the issue of having comments thread so that the table resizing when one replies to an entry doesn't get out of hand, and I am sure there are things I've missed that will need tweaking later on when I come across them.

Wow. Missed out on a lot by never using s2!

Thanks to carriep63 I've got an s2 opal thingie going on. At the very least, I can frig with the css in the layout to figure out what's what.

And don't get too comfy with the header and background. It's too busy, and I'll be changing both. Not quite sure what everything does yet, as the css has a few new definitions I'm not used too/not sure what each specific definition controls, but I'll figure it out.

I think this color/image combination will work for me for now. :p
