So this morning I was startled awake with the text message: It's going to cost about 860$.

Don't have much of an opinion there. Instead, I shall cheer myself up with pictures, come along with me, won't you?

These were taken along the parade route yesterday and fiddled with in adobe photo shop to look like they were taken with a LOMO camera. Some techniques rendered different results, and I kinda like that. What do you think?

You make bath time soooo much fun!

I think the world needs to appreciate sunflowers just a little more. Sure, roses are beautiful and delicate and pretty smelling–I agree. But there is something about the sunflower that is just as enchanting. Maybe it is my secret love affair with the color yellow, particularily rich, bright, gold-like shades of it. Or maybe because in a secret past life I was some sort of sun worshipper with a garden full of them. Either way, I think sunflowers rock.

My mother in-law planted two of the giant monsterously huge sunflowers smack daub in the middle of our garden. They grew remarkably fast and bloomed as speedy as they grew. I am sad, however. It seems like as fast as they bloom, turning their little yellow cheery petals to the sun, they begin to whither and wilt.

One of the two is already stuck half way in permanent, cordial half bow to the rising sun, as if saying his good-byes at his final curtain call.

***Upon further investigation, I think the sunflower's demise is being helped by someone.

I just don't know who...

So, I'm still squealing over the wii fit, just decided to post it over at 2phatgeeks, because ya'll have to get tired of me going on an on about the same thing. (I've managed to not rant hardly at all about role play! ....Except for the video rant...but anyway!) It's pretty much the same glowing praises here, but I did realize there is some danger to the wii fit. It will make you jog your jubblies out of your underwear.

And to close this utter random fest of randomness, all of the prints I ordered last week from Deviant Art of my own work shipped, at amazinnngggg prices (artist discount) and the most amazing QUALITY. I am so impressed (and always more so) with deviant art and their print system. Not that I wasn't confident, I'd just never received more than a single small print that I won--I didn't know about the quality of larger prints.

Needless to say, my fears are quieted.

It's true. I love you guys so much that I got up at 6:40 so I could get dressed and ready to catch Turkey Creek Sanctuary in morning light. Also, it is a little less than frying-brain-matter-hot in the morning now, so it was the best time to go for a nice long walk along the board walk.

We decided to have our memorial day usual a day before the actual date. I made cajun spicy pork burgers with romulade sauce and Shawn bought for turkey franks and sausages to throw on the grill too.

During the bbq Shawn's mother ran in and out with her bubble wands, which she was incredibly giddy and proud of having as well as her kite. So she blew bubbles in the backyard and flew her kite.

Later on (just a half an hour ago)we finished our wii fit work out and then we suited up the cat in her harness and toddled outdoors again. I just ran around taking pictures of our backyard while Shawn's mother came back out with the bubble wands again. I'm still not comfortable with the Canon settings. Taking pictures in broad daylight of the bubbles were difficult, dusk/sunset even more.

It's been a very good day.

Today I went to Turkey Creek Sanctuary after watching Prince Caspian.

Possibly one of the worst ideas yet because it was approximately Satan's asshole hot outside and after twenty minutes in the sun I wished I was dead.

I love Florida in the summer!

I will give one thing to Florida, it's so very, very green when it wants to be. Even in the middle of a fire haphazard where at any moment everything could burst into flames; there's Florida, all cheery and green anyway. "DUDE. WE LOVE HOT!"

At any rate, while we were there Shawn rescued a turtle that was wandering across the road to go eat and forgot to check both ways so we picked it up. While we were carrying it he/she seemed pretty laid back about the whole floating-through-the-air thing and was even doing this lazy ehn-ehn flap of his legs half-heartedly until we set him/her down. Soon as we set him/her down him/her actually moved pretty fast to get out of there.


When we got home we cleaned out hamster cages (which we just finished up) and naturally, the best thing to do with a hamster while cleaning out it's cage is to put it in the safest place in the world.

What are stock photos?
Long story short, anything I offer under the title stock photo or call a stock photo with my images means it's a photo that you can: download, adobe photoshop alter, use as a resource to practice drawing with, include in another picture, manipulate, doodle over, make into something web-sitey etcetc.

Which means if you want to make it a header banner? That's ok. You want to make it a button, a background, a sketch, a digital painting? That's okay too.

The only thing I ask is that you credit with either a link back to: http://www.2phatgeeks.com or my deviant art gallery: http://epicureanpoetry.deviantart.com/. If I start seeing my pictures being used without credit (And I don't mean ya'll on my friends list because I know you are awesome)then I will STOP offering images for stock use and attempt to follow a legal route to have them removed from places that cannot follow a very simple courtesy.
